5. Managing Hazards and Residues

Pesticide residues are a matter of great concern since members of the general public perceive a risk, but feel it is a matter over which they have little control. In response, authorities attempt to regulate by setting standards and monitoring exposure.

This results (necessarily) in an arcane set of procedures and terminologies.
